| Ward Transformer Sales and
Service, Inc. is located in Raleigh, NC, within a stone's throw of the
RDU International Airport and nestled between Interstate 40 and NC Hwy.
70. Raleigh is a growing and bustling area with great amenities including
major universities, major medical centers and the Research Triangle Park.
Our 40,000-square foot facility
is equipped to handle the repair or new manufacture of transformers weighing
from 30 up to 100,000 pounds. Overhead cranes span our inside loading
dock and winding areas; an outside crane is available for units of
larger size requiring extended lifts.
In the USA, Ward is one of
only a handful of companies that can vacuum-dry the insulation in your
transformer using the same process of the original manufacturer.
Our on-site chamber is capable of handling transformers up to and including
15 MVA. Our vacuum dehydration system has a cold-trap water capacity
of 36 gallons per day.
After
servicing, all transformers go through a thorough testing process.
Our testing facility is designed to meet the latest ANSI requirements.
Trained technicians perform a complete analysis on your transformer with
computer-generated results. Printed results are available for your
review within minutes.
Our technical/repair team
is comprised of over 50 highly trained individuals, many of whom have over
15 years of experience. Every winder employed apprentices for a minimum
of six months with a more experienced team member before they can begin
winding on their own. Technicians are supported by our engineering
department which is staffed by transformer experts who utilize CAD.
Sales, engineering and other office functions are housed in the administrative
portion of our facility.
Finally,
Ward owns a fleet of air ride trucks to transport the transformers we build
and repair. This ensures safe and timely transit, so your transformer
will be operative as soon as possible.
